Successful Completion of LVSB Competency Course by UTHM Diploma Students
PAGOH: 16 dedicated students from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia’s (UTHM), Centre for Diploma Studies successfully completed the Operation and Maintenance of Low Voltage Switch Board (LVSB) Competency Course held at UTHM’s Pagoh Campus. This hands-on training, organized by PiTC FTK UTHM, provided students with essential skills for working with LVSB systems—an important component in industrial electrical installations.
Led by Ir Ts Ammar bin Alamshah from Ares Energy Sdn Bhd, the course was designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in key aspects of LVSB operations. Ir Ts Ammar’s expertise and dedication were instrumental in guiding students through the program’s comprehensive curriculum, which included critical technical competencies required in professional electrical engineering.
Highlights of the Training:
- Electrical Safety and Standards: Emphasizing best practices and regulations for safe electrical work.
- Pathway to Professional Engineering: Providing insights into career progression within the engineering field.
- Fundamentals of Industrial Electrical Installations: Covering foundational knowledge needed for various industrial electrical setups.
- Single and Three-Line Diagrams: Teaching students to interpret and create crucial diagrams used in industrial settings.
- LVSB Operation and Maintenance: Training on proper operation and maintenance procedures for low voltage switchboards.
- Testing for Overcurrent, Earth Fault, and Leakage: Practical instruction in critical testing methods to ensure system safety and reliability.
- Theoretical and Practical Assessments: Rigorous assessments designed to confirm competency in both knowledge and hands-on skills.
This course also provided participants with hands-on experience in working with essential components, including relays, contactors, busbars, and meters, offering a realistic and in-depth look into LVSB systems. Students practiced testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting, skills that are essential for industrial electrical work.
We are thrilled to announce that all participants successfully passed both the theoretical and practical assessments, demonstrating their proficiency and readiness for real-world electrical engineering challenges.
Congratulations to these aspiring engineers for their hard work and dedication in building a solid foundation in industrial electrical systems. This program represents a vital step in their journey towards becoming skilled professionals in the engineering field, and we look forward to seeing their future achievements.
